The first Chengdu Marathon was held in Chengdu on September 23, 2017. As a candidate race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors and the WA Golden Label event, Chengdu Marathon attracted over 35000 participants.

Chengdu is famed for its cuisine, and is also home to the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can view endangered giant pandas in a natural habitat.

1. Age Requirement

Marathon participants must be over 20 years old (Born before December 31st, 2004);

Half marathon participants must be over 16 years old (Born before December 31st, 2008);

Any participant below the age of 18 is required to seek their legal parental/guardians consent and complete the participation statement. The actual age on the valid identification (personal ID, passport, military officer certificate) and other valid documents must accord with the age requirements of the 2024 Chengdu Marathon Rules & Regulations.

2. Cut-Off Time:

The cut-off time will be enforced at each timing point due to limited duration of traffic control, security operation and event operation. In case participants who have not reached all the timing mats by the cut-off time must stop running and either taking the Sweep Bus or public transportation to the corresponding finish zone for picking up their personal belongings.

1.RACE COURSE

Starting Line: Jinsha Ruins Museum;

Half Marathon Finish Line: Wangjiang Campus of Sichuan University;

Marathon Finish Line: Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center;

Race Course: The course will pass through Jinniu District, Qingyang District, Jinjiang District, Chenghua District, Wuhou District, Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and Sichuan Tianfu New Area.
